what's up you tube! welcome to my grow. today i want to talk to you about topping in your plants for a better yield. so let's get started with plant growthand development. growth of a marijuana plant invegetative stage primarily happens at the terminal bud at the top ofthe plant. the growth is driven by hormones called auxin's the plant grows vertically with one main stem. lateral stems are also created but grow at a much slower pace when you cut the terminal bud, the auxin's are disrupted
your plant reacts by creating two new stems in its place. each one of the these stems will create a new terminal bud and continue to grow as it did before. are created in your plants roots andleaves. these hormones are pushed to the top your plant where it creates a new terminal bud at the node. the terminal bud eventually forms into a stem and another node is created. from there the process starts over again. each one of these stems will eventually form a flower. i you are growing outdoors or have really intense light
this is fine because your entire plantwill get enough light to create dense resinous flowers. when you cut the leading terminal bud.. you create two new leading stems. this will also allow the lower stems to catch up to the top creating a bushier and stocky plantwhich will also give you more even.. canopy in flowering. if you're growing with low wattagelights or l.e.d.'s topping is important because these lights usually don't have enough power to penetrate down to the lower flowers.flowers that don't receive enough light are..
usually light and airy and don't not create as many trichomes as the top flowers. creating an even canopy will allow you toget the most out your low powered lights. you can top your plant whenever you like, during vegetative stage. just make sure you give your plant at least two weeks to recover before inducingflowering the so allow you to get the best out ofnew stem growth. i like atop my plants early in the vegetative stage, usually around the time when they form their second node
and i only do it if the plants arestrong and healthy. there are two commonly used methods for topping your plants the first one is called pinching. all you have to do is pinch of the terminal bud at the top of the plant. in the second method you use a pairshears to cut off the top terminal. when you top your plant, you'reactually damaging it and it takes your plant about two to three days to recover this is why it's important that you makesure that your plant is healthy and
strong before topping i think also better mention that older your stem or the thicker the stem, the more chances you have a running into some trouble the bigger the wound, the longer it takes the plant the heal. the open wounds could attract pest or disease to your garden but if yourgarden's clean and your plants are healthy and strong, they should be okay as always i want to thank you forwatching commenting and subscribing
